Home Town: Long Island, NY
Bio: Emilee was born and raised in Long Island, New York but calls Washington, D.C. home. She moved to D.C. in 2013 after graduating from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (insert nerd emoji) to begin and focus her career on global health and strategic partnerships; she loves bringing people together to solve hard problems. Emilee began cycling in 2013 when she was walking by a studio with their doors open and music blasting and was immediately hooked. Since then, she has taken hundreds of classes across the East Coast and tries to take new classes at new studios every chance she gets. Emilee is a NASM certified instructor who has been teaching cycling classes in the DMV for over three years. When she’s not on the bike, you can find her Face-Timing any of her six nieces & nephews, hanging outside with her friends, and attempting to enjoy ALL of the amazing food and restaurants DC has to offer.
Pump Up Song: Any early 2000’s R&B but if I had to choose… Say My Name Destiny’s Child
What do you want someone leaving your class to feel (3 words max): Strong, Inspired & Sweaty
What fuels my workout (food, song, belief, ritual): Riders! Look up the Kohler effect, you work harder as a part of a group than you would on your own.
Motivational Motto: Progress over perfection.
Describe the experience you hope to create in your classes (cycling and other classes): Emilee knows first-hand how intimidating it can be to break into the fitness community so she styles her classes to be accepting and encouraging for all riders – whether it’s your first class or your 1000th, they are exclusively inclusive. When it comes to class she believes in community over comp
